Default 3:23 to 3:73 et gains

Since I have ran out of boltons im looking at other ways of dropping my et in the 1/8. my current best is 7.7 with a 1.68 60ft but average is around a mid to low 1.7 60ft. I was wondering how switching to 3:73 would effect my 60ft and et. thanks

it should help your 60's as long as you have the tire for it.

my car always ran 110.5 mph. With 3.73s it went 113.0. I think i coulda squeezed another .5mph out of it, so i think in the quarter they can be worth 3 mph. No ET comparison yet bc that night i was spinning pretty bad (track was slick)

was that with a stall? i have heard that it makes a huge difference without a stall. I was just wondering if it would make a difference since i already have one

that was with a stall, stall/LTs only i went 107.5, stall/cam/LTs i went 110.5, then i added gears and went 113. The gears tighten the stall up around town some also.

I just put in 3:73's and at 70 MPH my RPM's are at 2400. So a little extrapolation (2400X60)/70 = 2057RPM at 60 MPH.

its about a four hundred rpm jump on the hwy or 10 mph give or take. Like instead of 2K at 70 you will be at 2400 at 70. Or istead of 2k at 70 you will be around 2k at 60. hope this helps.

omcar, just out of curiosity what did you mph in the 1/8? i would really like to get a 7.6 pass but idk if that will happen with gears, my average is 7.83-6 at 87 to 88 with 1.7 60s

I don't have first hand experience, as I have 3.23's too, but most reading say's it doesn't show much gains. If my rear end was to break I would upgrade. If gears were a cheap install it would be a different story.
