Default Rearend Fluid

Hi guys,
I'm sure there will be a million answers to this, but what is the best fluid to use in a 10 bolt rearend with GM 4.10's. I'm new to this and don't really know what the differences are. Thanks!

I allways used Mobile 1 and had good results. Also, do not forget the GM limited slip additive.

I use 85W-140 dino oil, with the GM additive.

I use 85w-140 dino oil in all the 10 bolt's I work on.GM additive for Auburns(you can use it with torsons).

The thicker oil can help quiet down 4.10 gear whine too.

In my original 3:23 geared 10 bolt I swapped out the factory fluid and replaced it with Lucas oil. http://www.lucasoil.com/Products_List.cfm

I used 1 pint of their 85/140 and 1 pint of their stabilizer, that rear end went onto 500+ 1320 passes and over 150+ dyno pulls!

It never failed!

As a matter of fact that rearend was pulled apart recently by my gear installer and he was in shock @ how new looking all the internals were, including the Zexel Torsen posi unit!

The rearend I replaced it with was a highly abused 3:42 10 bolt out of a M6 car, and I put the same stuff in that rear and it operated flawlessly right up until the swap recently.

I took out the 85/140 royal purple and put in lucas 75/90 and the rear actually got a little quieter.
