Default Will a 7 5/8's posi unit fit stock axles?

I ordered a new posi unit with 373's off a company on ebay that was out of an s10. It was advertised as a 7.5 carrier but when I got it in, on the pinion it says 7 5/8's. It was no big deal to me until I was on summit racing tonight and saw that axles for a 7.5 and axles for a 7 5/8's are two seperate part numbers. I was planning to use my stock axles provided they aren't wasted. Can anyone give me any insight on this?

Default

axles could be a different part number bc of length, bolt pattern for the wheels, or splines. Doesnt mean your axles wont plug into it. I would think spline count on the stock axles vs. you carrier would be all that matters in your app but i could be wrong.
