do you have any tricks on how to keep the bolts from backing out on a moser 12 bolt with the UMI torque arm.

they are put in with red loctite but still backed out after a hundred or so miles

actually i am missing one and ordered a new set

when you installed the TA on the M12, did you blow/clean the holes out B4 screwing in the bolts? I only ask cause i used to have this issue until i cleaned the holes out well (there was dust and other crap down there that kept them "loose", once i blew them out with my air compresser, i no longer had the issue. Mine are also red loc tite-ed, and were just looked at about 3 days ago with no issues. Im using a BMR TA.

Drill the bolt and use a cotter pin. That's what I would do.

Double nutting on a Moser 12-bolt is impossible - so is putting any sort of nut on the mounting bolts. They are four short bolts that go into blind holes, hence the problem. **** poor design, but that's what people have to work with when they have a Moser 12-bolt.

Oh, they are bolts that go into a blind hole? Could the bolts be safety wired?

Have you tried cleaning out the bolt holes very well? How much locktite are you using? If you are using a ton of locktite, on bolt holes that are already saturated with dirt and old locktite, it wont do much good. I used to have this issue when I had a moser 12 bolt a few years ago. I just cleaned out the bolt holes VERY WELL, I think I used mineral spirits or something like that. Dried them out very well, then put a couple of drops of l red locktite on each bolt, and didn't have any issues since.

If it were me, I would drill a hole in the heads and wire them together somehow.

I cant believe Moser put blind bolt holes in the housing for attaching the TA. Thats just retarded. They should have used the roughly 8" long bolts just like OEM.

Does the strange do this too? Or do they use the long bolts?

Strange uses a thru bolt system just like the OEM 10-bolt...

I have used this method several times and never had an issue.

I usually use brake cleaner to get all of the oil out of the holes and off the threads on the bolt. Take and blow the holes out till they are clean and use the red Loctite no more problems ....
