stock gear question

Question stock gear question

I have a 2000 TA A4. My door sticker is not on my car any longer and i was wanting to know if there is any other way to tell whether i have the 2.73's or the 3.25's?? Maybe MPH/RPM?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks ahead of time guys.

at 60mph....

With 2.73s you should be around 1500rpm
With 3.23s you should be around 1800rpm

my 2000 TA came with 2.73

For an A4 it can be either 2.73 or 3.23

I would call a dealer and give him your VIN. They will be able to tell you your gears. I think the 2000 TAs only came with the 3.23s in th A4s though.

I have the GU2 (273) gears.
Great for the hwy. Sucks on the low end!

Yeah, but once you hit about 100 mph...

I just changed my car to 3.42 gears (was 2.73), and I miss that top end on the highway.

I was at ~1500 rpms @ 60MPH.....so i guess i have the 2.73s. Thanks for the help

Kind of a give/take thing.
I do like the fact that @ 100 mph i am only @ 2200 rpm's............
