Default Indexing a Driveshaft?

I hope I am using the correct term. I am converting my '95 Formula from auto to T56. Since I have to remove the old, rusty steel driveshaft, I figure I might as well replace it with the nice aluminum one I saved from my old '92 TA. I was looking in my factory service manual today, and it makes a big deal out of making sure that you mark how the driveshaft is before removing it, then install it in exactly the same position.

Now, if installing a different driveshaft, this obviously can't be done. Does it really matter? I had the stock steel shaft out once before and did not worry about what position I reinstalled it in...did not seem to cause any vibration or anything of that sort.

don't worry about it, like you said since its a different driveshaft there is no way to index it. If it vibrates, just turn it 180* and see if it smooths out.
