Default Rearend gear swap cost?

01 Camaro SS, 74k miles. How much does a rearend gear swap from 3.42 to 4.10s cost, including the carrier change? Anyone got the breakdown of all the costs involved including Labour? Dont want to be ripped off, Thnx

I have done it for a 12 pack before . Most shops charge 250 to 500 for labor only from what I have heard.

I've been quoted between 550.00 & 750.00 inclueding gears & complete rebuild kit!
I'm in tx. tho so...............

so for thread jacking, but when installing new gears, do you need a install kit? or can you just swap them out

I believe its better to get the complete install kit along with the gears to be safe. Especially with weak 10 bolt rearends with alot of miles, so Im going to do the whole gears and install kit.

Was considering an upgrade but that's just too much. Too bad you aren't nearby or I'd get you a 12 pack
