Default 6 speed guys come on, Driveshaft Slipe yoke problems!

I have went through severl slip yokes this year. car is a 10 second 6 speed car, full weight. 28" slicks etc etc

car hooks 1.40's 60 fts NA. I have broken gears, a input shaft and twisting several slipe yokes.

I had a new custom chromoly driveshaft made for me, 1350 solid joints. and a new forged slip yoke.

and after 5 passes on it it has already started to twist the splines again. but the splines on the output shaft are still straight as I can still slide a stock yoke all the way till it bottoms out.

and with the shootout coming up, i dont want any problems, and I am out of idea's.

anyone else had this problem? and if so what do I need to order NOT to have this problem.

thanks
Charlie

I just bought a Dennys driveshaft with a Mark Williams billet slip yoke.... the yoke was pricey but after taking delivery and seeing it in person I am confident I will never have any issues with the yoke twisting or breaking.

Check out the Mark Willliams billet yokes.

i just broke my slip yoke twice. the 2nd time it took out the torque arm mount and my 12-bolt gears. i think it ended up being my torque arm mount being loose is what caused it.

I twisted the spicer. went to a MW billet and haven't hurt it yet
Another thing. you don't want the car to dead hook. make it spin about 2 turns

i have this problem with my PST driveshaft with 1350 yoke. i pulled the driveshaft out to do something & looked at the splines on the slip yoke & noticed that they are starting to twist. my car isnt that crazy either, with just a MS-4, boltons & the occasional 150 shot. i'll be checking into the MW option over the winter.

make sure the shaft is long enough. You want as must spline engaged as possible without bottoming out and full compression

I'll third the MW piece it truly is tip top. Think of Mark Williams like Snap On and everything else like house brand tools. They might be guaranhteed for life too but who cares if they break everytime you want to use them? Mark Williams is the best available right now.

I'd also get the torque arm mount off the trans tail shaft if you havent already thats just a disaster waiting to happen ( looks like it already has? ) Get a crossmember relocated mount for the TQA or the shorty with its own c member and that should help take a lot of punishment away from the slip yoke/

What tire pressure are you running? Seems like guys who run lower than 14psi have these sorts of issues which you can kind of feel on launch it digs but it also wiggles and makes you think hmmmm whats going on back there?

How much were the MW yokes compared to the one you just bought? I have the standard forged Spicer yoke. Once my car starts to hook good I might be upgrading the yoke before this happens.

MW's were around 285, the one I got from jegs was 210 shipped.
