Default need help on ehich ring/pinion brand to go with!!!! please help.

hey guys, well, as with most ppl my built 10 bolt finally grenaded itself.. with that said and done im savin up for a moser 12 bolt next summer. however, so i dont have a ton of down timw, im goin to get another set of gears just to tinker around with until i can get the 12 bolt(prob around next july). so, i need input, i had richmonds in it b4, but they whined like a wolf. so the question is, who makes the strongest gears?

GM stock and Motive should be the strongest but the GM brand should be quieter. Richmonds might have less tensile strength since they are hardened so much.

Since you have a 3 series carrier, I voted GM.

If you are just trying to get back on the road til you can save up for the bigger rearend, I'd find a used one on here and be done with it.

I've bought and sold several rearends with low miles for $200-$250. A lot cheaper than doing a gear swap, and then when you get the new rearend you can just sell the 10-bolt. Think of it as a "rental fee"..

true but, the moser rearends only break when ppl dump the clutch at 5000-6000 rpms, which i have no intention of doing, there are ppl putting out much, much, much more than i will be doing, so im not all that wrried about it.

I have had pretty decent luck with motive stock replacement blue box. My orange box 3.73s whine a little. Summit 4.10s whine a lot Everyone seems to have great luck with SLP/GM/AAM gears.
