Default Pics of my Midwest Chassis 9"

Hopefully I can finish this thing up soon and get it in the car. I still need to bend the brake lines a little better and mofiy the loop/torque arm mount as it won't fit next to my exhaust.

Be careful where you have that brake line run right under the top torque arm mount. I ran mine there too and I had to grind a flat spot on the jam nut to keep from damaging the brake line. Not a biggie, just a heads up.

I have that in mind. I will make final adjustments when it's under the car.

It is. I have Strange SS axles with the aluminum center section. It's a 4 channel rear with stock brakes and Russel braided lines. It's killin' me to mod the front torque arm mount, but I have no choice. It looks great and the welds are very nice. It just won't fit with my exhaust. Whoever Eric uses for powder coating does an excellent job as well.

I didn't know know Eric. When I left, there was only this one there with my other stuff. If I would have known, I wouldn't have 'modded' this one.

It's OK..after some grinding, I think it'll be just fine. The only thing I have left to do is make a small dent in my exhaust and paint the spot where I ground down the crossmember. I also had to enlarge the bolt holes just slightly.

Well it's in and the brakes have been bled. I didn't have time to get it down and take it for a ride, but when I tried the wheels on the car (315's) they rubbed pretty badly. I can't imagine I'd need a spacer for this rear, correct? Again, this is with it in the air and no load in the suspension.

I was thinking the same thing...I'll have more time to do that tomorrow. Otherwise, everything fit like a glove.

I added Strano springs and UMI with a Bilstein for flavor back there.

Took it for a ride yesterday finally. Only went a few miles to get gas and back. No noise and everything seems ok. I nned to make 5 trips before I can see how it does on a launch.

Eric said any 80/90 would be fine as long as it isn't synthetic. He did suggest to stop at a Ford Dealer and get their anti-slip additive though. I bought 4 quarts of the 80/90 and the additive at my local Ford dealer for $24. Very inexpensive I thought. I read on another site that the Ford gear oil is excellent compared to the off brands you see at the auto parts stores and it is specifically made for Ford designed rear ends.

I've got about 60 miles on mine now and am going to lift the car up and go over every bolt to make sure everything is still as it should be. Otherwise, I finally got on it a little yesterday and it seems great. No gear noise at all. The Strano suspension is excellent as well. I;m not sure I'll be able to get to the track one more time this year. I'll try though.

It's an aluminum posi unit by Strange with 3.70 gears. If I didn't plan on taking the car on Power Tour eventually, I would have gone steeper. This seems to be a good compromise.
