2.73 gears
I have a 2002 trans am. It has 2.73 gears in it. Should I change them or not? If I did change them I would only want to go to a 3.23
Would there be any benefit from changing them? If so, what kind of performance gains have you guys seen from doing so? Thanks

i wouldn't go to 3.23 (45 dead spot) because you will end up changing it to 3.73 anyway. go big the first time 3.73 (no dead spots) and you will see a huge difference.
i got 3.23 in my z28 and i m dieing to go to 3.73

I went from 2.73 to 3.73, only dropped my track times about .15, but has made the car much more enjoyable to drive on the street. Lost about 2 mpg from the swap, driving mostly highway.

i have 2.73's reight now while the car is my dd work car. plans are to replace entire drive train at 200K miles. at that point, if the rear hold together i'll swap for some 3.90's.

I don't know how big of difference it is between the vette and Z28 but this chart is right on with my car with RPMs. I have 3:42 out of a Z06 in my Vette and I like it a lot I have been told the 2:73 that came in my car were very sluggish mine was changed before I got it.
