Default What gears

I am installing a th400 and a 9", already have full bolt ons and a cam. Probably around 3800 lbs with me in it on a 28" Hoosier QTP. I am spraying it with a 150-200 shot out of the hole off the t-brake. This a street-strip car. Will still be driving it to work every once in a while...

So what gears

3.50s or 3.70s

Since you're giving up a 3.06 1st gear ratio for the 2.48 in what you feel will be the stronger setup. I'd go with 3.70's atleast, tho I feel it needs more rear gear.
But your Spray/T-Brake, etc. You'll be able to drive the highways sanely with your 1:1 final drive ratio.

Here's how the torque multiplication will work out. Usually a Torque Mutiplication of 9.5-11.0 is optimal while maintaining 1st gear driveability, and not anihilate the tires even more so. (Sticky tire's of course....)

Before/4L60E
3.06 1st. Gear x 3.50 Rear = 10.71 Tqe. Multiplication
3.06 1st. Gear x 3.70 Rear = 11.32 Tqe. Multiplication

After/T400
2.48 1st.Gear x 3.70 rear = 9.18 Tqe. Multiplication
2.48 1st.Gear x 3.50 rear = 8.68 Tqe. Multiplication

(But atleast you'll be feeding it the "hit" off the line mostly, which will have it acting more like it's geared up anyway.

I like the 3.70's.... JMO

3.70 (3.75 through Moser now) is what I would recommend as well. Bob

I've responded to your PM. Good Luck with your setup. Keep us posted on how it launches, and worksout overall.
