Default Irs ?

Has anyone tried to fit an IRS from a newer GTO into any FBody series? Thought crossed my mind when I found one on eBay for $600. Any thoughts?

They're weak and tend to break, if you were to do a swap, go for one from a C5/C6 Corvette. Bob

yeah dont do one from a gto. I hear the IRS in the new camaro is a bit stronger.

hey exotic, is there a way to use the rear gear from a vette in a Fbody or gto without having to use the transmission and torque tube too?

I looked into that one but I would have to change the fuel tank to Corvette style also to fit the torque tube. Not too many 2010 Camaro IRS on eBay yet ... I'll keep my eyes open though
