Default Paint for new rear & drive shaft ?

I'm getting a new rear and steel drive shaft and would like to give them a nice black paint job before the install. Can someone please tell me about what kind of paint I should use that will prevent rust?
Any special preparations needed?

Thanks alot,
John

That is what I used. Be sure to follow instructions and it will turn ut great. Also make sure there is nothing of value that the paint will drip on. It does not come off easy that includes skin.

I like Por15 but after buying a 12 bolt, I was REALLY poor! Semi-flat Rustoleum worked fine for me. I just keep the under side clean and I might do a touch up once a year if needed. If you live in rust-ville then I'd consider Por15 instead of paint. One thing I'd be worried about though is adding too much por15 to one side and affecting the balance of the shaft so just try to keep the coat even all around.
