Default from what rearend is this?

I when I bought car I notice that the rearend is not the original doesn't got the traction control the button is not working and the emergency brake won't work either. I saw that it didn't look the same as the rearend from my lt1 firebird some say its shorten or replace from another car! Can someone identify from what rearend is this and it has like traction links holding the rearend on the chassis I think!

If the axle is shorted in width then its prolly from a 3rd gen camaro. The 82-92 rear ends were sligtly shorter. It was prolly some half-*** attempt to get the car driving again by getting a cheap $50 junk yard axle.

Thats a 7.5 inch 10 bolt. Same as what came in your car stock. Im not sure on the axle lengths part and which years had what length.

Trucks dont have torque arms and our cars do. Plus there is different widths, bolt patterns, wrong brackets. There is a mountain of things that have to be done to fit a truck rear-end into an F-body. Probably more then what its worth IMO.

There is a couple threads on the 8.8 swap. However, you cant use your stock wheels and some other issues including possibly eliminating the stock torque arm in favor of a ladder bar set-up. You should read up on that. Pretty good info.
