Unhappy grind when taking off :(

ive noticed lately that i get a grind when i take off in 1st from a stop..its not the tranny because the shifter doesnt shake when it happens, and the wheels are smooth...its like its from either the clutch area or the driveshaft bearings? its weird that it only happens a few times in 1st..and not all the time

Its fairly common on an M6 car, its the trans, you cant feel it in the shifter. It happens when you take of fairly slow and the rpm drops pretty low, its hard to describe but it sounds like something in the exhaust is rattling but it only does it on takeoff.

Sure it's not just the exhaust buzzing something, on account
of the higher torque or squat you get in 1st gear bringing some
part into interference??

im thinking its the clutch disk, now its happening if i punch it in low rpms in the lower gears..If it was the tranny or rear wouldnt it make this grind at all speeds?

Its been 10 days but if you havent figured it out maybe i can help. Mine was doing the same thing, especially when it was hot and i had to take off slow. I finally pulled the tranny and found a trashed flywheel and worn disk. Good luck.
