Default Rear End Girdles

Hello Fellow Members,
I have a 1998 Ta with 2.73 gears, I am about to install a Vigilante 3200 stall. I know the stock rears are prone to break, as a precausion i was interested in installing a TA rear girdle. Is the girdle worth investing in? Has anyone ever broken a rear with a girdled rear end?
Thanks
Tom

I'm sure it's happened, especially in M6's. I got one, but I'm still not going to put DR's on it and take it to the track. The amount I spend on the tow could be used in a aftermarket rear.

I take it you have an A4 with the 2.73 gears. You should do ok with the A4, it's us M6 guys that suck ***. (literally)
