Default Switch to aluminum???

A friend of mine is taking his heavily modded 01 Z28 back to near stock. He offered to trade his alum driveshaft for 50 bucks and my stock steel driveshaft (gotta love them 2.73 Z28s ). Is it worth the swap???

Of course, you can read the other thread about broken aluminum driveshafts. I've seen a fair amount of those stories on LS1 boards. Advantages to aluminum: less weight, less prone to vibration. Disadvantages: Weaker. I would say that if you don't have vibration problems with your steel shaft, don't bother. The difference in rotating weight is not going to give you much anyway.
