Default Easy to go from 1/2" to 5/8" studs on the axles?

Silly question i guess. All you need to do is just drill and tape the axles for the 5/8" studs right? Or should i just leave in 1/2 wheel studs with my 700 HP M6 car?? Will factory 10 spoke SS wheels work with 5/8" studs?? THANKS!!

I would leave the 1/2 in there. Don't think factory wheels will fit over the 5/8.

5/8" WILL fit in stock rim.

-first picture is a 5/8" stud in stock 17" trans am rim.

-second picture is stud with lug nut in stock 17" trans am rim.

-last picture is with the socket on it so you can tighten it down.

and i ordered my axles with both 1/2" and 5/8" patterns in them. so i have 1/2" in there now. an d when i go faster i can switch out to 5/8"

Assuming this will be on a soon to be bought 9".

You will bend/break your factory studs if you actually try racing it and you maybe in the situation where you are going fast enough need longer/thicker studs.

My 12 bolt is drilled for factory, but when I upgrade I will have them modded for 5/8" They are going to be placed inbetween the factory drilled holes and just remove the 1/2" stuff.

Wrong.... We slapped my stock formula wheels on MIGHTYMOUSE's car for the drive to Memphis last year (raining like hell and didn't want to be on DR's). He has 5/8 studs.

that was after you drilled them out right? because i have some ZR1 wheels that need alot of work to fit on my studs. i can not find a nut to fit in the rim pocket.

Never seen it done. the hole is 1/8 bigger. You would need to have the shoulder on a 1/2 stud 5/8. don't remember anybody making those.

I twisted the 1/2" studs that came on my moser 9" axles. I upgraded to APR 1/2" studs. Hoping these won't bend like the others. I personally do not want to go to 5/8".

Where did the lugnuts come from that will work with a 60° seat style wheel? I have a hard time getting my socket in the opening of my wheels with 12mm studs.
