Default 12 bolt gear whine solved?

I know this is the gear section, but my question is can mounting the torque arm anywhere else then the trans cause a significant increase in gear whine. Will a tunnel mount torque arm amplify the noise coming form the rear end. I have a tunnel mounted torque arm with a 12 bolt Mosier and 410 gears and it has the typical 55 to 65 whine right in the middle of decel and accel. I know some of you will say that its in the setup I do believe its possible, but I have had two different very good shops set it up and it has the same identical whine. I set it up once also and it still whines. I have set up a 12 bolt car rear end in a chevelle before and the thing was quiet as could be, my dads 9 inch also no whine at all and I seriously didn't pay as much attention to the setup as i did on my car. So what I am asking is has anyone actually had gear whine and switched back to the trans mounted torque arm and had the gear whine go away. I also feel everyone on Mosiers customer service, I was told that it was just something I was going to have to live with that the 12 bolt was much bigger than the 10 bolt and the high performance ring and gear was going to whine no matter what. I mean seriously Why can't these rear end companys step up and solve the problem, even if we have to spend more money, there has to be a way to fix this problem. Or tell us do not run the tunnel mounted torque arm unless you want it to sound like someone is screaming in your ear wait but only at 55 to 65 miles an hour.

Also sorry for the title but I knew that would hook pretty much every 12 bolt owner, also let me know if your 12 bolt is actually quiet and tell me what torque arm you have i think that will help everyone out.

Yes

Why? The torque arm transfers any noise from the rear up towards the passenger compartment. The soft rubber that is found in the factory torque arms front mount prevents a lot of this noise from going any further. Bob

Apparently. I thought this was ls1tech and thought we were on topic about 4th gen cars... not 2nd.

but back on topic, after reading this, what part of the housing gets distorted? Can it be reinforced?

And if this is LS1TECH why does it have an LT1 section? why does it have a small and big block section? 9 inch rears are fords, Dana 60's aren't GM so lets not talk about them either.
So **** you.
Wow.
Were not in any of those sections and this isnt the lounge and this is off topic.

You know the only thing that that makes me question the distorted housing theory is why the hell doesn't the weak 10bolt piece of crap diff distort, I remember lauching my car with the 10 bolt cutting 1.72 60 fts and never picking up any gear noise. And if this is the case why isn't Mosier doing something about it you know after all we spend 2300+ on these rearends and they can't come out with a fix maybe a different casting. So it distorts the center section for a split second and it goes back into the original shape? I raced my car at the track this past summer I cut a 1.59 60 ft on a set of mt drag radials and when I was driving home holy **** the rear was making noise like crazy at all mph, then I put a new gear set in and the noise was back to normal 55 to 65 only, so is it the case or the gear set that get distorted, or the case gets distorted that cases the gears to get messed up.

Mine whines too. It's inherent to the design I suppose. Moser won't fix it. They want you to buy a 9'' now.

I am chilled out. If you have a problem take it to PMs and stop getting off topic to what has already been covered.

I thought you go to a wine store for wine??? My axle is as quiet as a church mouse. Just me could be wrong. And a good point was brought out by saying the stock 10 bolt with a torque arm does not do it so why would a bigger heavier 12 bolt suffer from this plague that causes wine. Gears wine if they are not set up correctly. Just me could be wrong. Thanks
