I bought a used Moser 12Bolt and the gears whine like crazy. I think they already have a wear pattern in them so I would rather just replace them and have it reset up properly. It came from Moser with 4.11 gears but how do I find out if it is a 3 or 4 series carrier. I want to replace them with 4.11's but don't want to order the wrong one.

i believe your gonna have to order the gears from moser since you have 4:11's i would say it is a 3 series carrier but if you call them i am sure they could tell you how much and wich ones you would need.

I bought a used Moser also from a friend which had 4.30's in it. thats a series 4 carrier (HD Eaton) and the series 4 handles the 4.11's also. there is a 3 carrier but its a thicker ring gear. i'd assume its a 4 but if you call Moser they can verify it
