Default Help with gear choice 3.73 or 3.90 in a A4

I have Moser 12 bolt that whines like crazy and I'm going to replace the gears to solve this. Now I am running a 3.55 but I would like to make the converter tighter while I'm doing this. My installer likes Precision Gear, which makes both 3.73 and 3.90 for the same price. I know that 3.90 will be tighter but is there a down side to this? I also noticed that most of the folks here use 3.73 (Moser was out of them when I ordered my rear). Thanks
