Poor opinion of Moser??? read this....
Bought my Moser 12 bolt from Thunder Racing during thier $50 off sale (thanks Thunder). Recieved it a week later. Looked great. Welded on the BMR relocation brackets and Xtreme anti roll mounts. Painted it and began install. Last thing was putting in the axles. Left axle fit like a glove...right axle...no go. Pulled the left back out to see if it would fit in the right...no go. Pulled the Eaton posi out and counted the splines. 33 on the left and 31 on the right..damn! I ordered 33 spline upgrade.
I called Moser and told them of the problem. They said call Thunder and have them call Moser with the invoice # and info. I called Paul at Thunder who immediately followed through with Moser. I was assigned a supervisor to deal with my situation. He was apolagetic and said they get thier posi units already assembled. But he did not attempt to sluff off responsabilty. We talked about options for a while and came up with the following solution:
They are overnighting a new posi unit with reluctor wheel on it and install/setup kit to a local well respected shop who is a Moser dealer (Alans Gear Works who is awesome BTW) They will swap the gears to the new posi unit and re- setup the rear. Moser is also overnighting me a check to cover the cost with Alans and my gas to drive across town to Alans. Along with the check will be some hats and T shirts. When I told Alans what would be transpiring..the owner siad they were booked til next friday. I called Moser and the supervisor called Alans and used his weight to fit me in in the beginning of the week. He said it would be done by weds.
Im pretty damn flabbergasted at the effort that went in to solving this problem as well as the final solution. Just thought you guys should know. Mistakes happen....its how the shop deals with it that counts. I couldnt be happier.

I have no doubt that Thunder carries some weight..but the supervisor assigned to me sounded sincere and ready to help. I think they would have done the right thing anyways.

Lol...if that happens...guess Ill have to go back to my stock ten bolt. It has held up to that abuse (700-800 ft/lbs) for years....lol.
The same people who setup the stock gears on my ten bolt are doing this 33 spline 12 bolt. It should hold mid to high 9 second passes easy. I may be going with a spool as well once I up the power.

I live about one hour west of the Moser facility. My Father ordered a 9" Ford directly from them a few years ago for his Pro Street Camaro. The service he received was excellent. My Dad was very pleased, and according to him the person handling the phone call was very professional and courteous. In fact, Moser's had the housing cut, the axles cut and splined, and everything else that needed to be done ready within one or two days if I remember correctly. All Dad had to do was go pick it up! If/when I buy a new rearend, I'll definitely be buying it from Moser's

maybe on a auto car. my m6 car has broke the 12 bolt many times and i know others on here that have had the same problem. and if it doesnt break, it sure will make enough noise to make you wish it would break so you have an excuse to fix it.
and i dont make 700-800 ft lbs of tq!

I'm glad to hear that Moser may be stepping up their customer response. One point that I'd like to make however is that it seems Moser makes a lot of initial mistakes.
If they do it right the first time, there are no corrections needed.
I hear a lot of "wrong parts" scenarios with Moser on here and on the other LS1 site...

Just took the camaro out to LACR for hangover with the new 12-bolt and it handled like a champ. I put about 500 break in miles on it before that. I was worried because of many others here saying after a couple good launches their moser rear started to whine really bad, but no problems here at all. I was launching damn near off the rev limiter on ET streets and a spec stg3. WOW what a difference from street tires on a 2.XX 60' to 1.7 and better. The first launch actually snapped my head back and jerked my hand off the shifter. The next day I took the camaro on a 500+ mile round trip to Vegas and not even a peep out of the rear. The moser actually whines less than the stock 10-bolt. With all the complains reguarding moser and their customer service on this board and i'm sure others, maybe they are trying to get their act together.

moser rocks! they have been great to deal with as well! i am positive the treatment would've been just as good if you bought it directly from them!!!
glad to hear a crappy situation worked out well, just go 9 inch when you pop that posi you know who sucks imo, is strange! a good friend of mine shelled out the dough for a 12 bolt, broke it in as required, first day at the track and boom! this is a 12 second car as well! imo, their support blew to high hell!
