Default TA diff cover torque specs

Does anyone know the proper torque to tighten the bolts that apply pressure to bearing caps? It is on a 97 SS with a 10bolt.

Hand tighten themdown first then torque them to 5-10 foot lbs. NO MORE then that. Then lock down the nut again 5-10 foot lbs. The cover bolts should be 25 foot lbs.

I think it's something like 10 INCH POUNDS. I know I had to borrow a small torque wrench b/c it was so low, my torque wrench wouldn't read that low.

It's in the directions....do you not still have them?

If not, I can try and look for you at home (at work now).

Now that I think about it, I think it's 5 FOOT POUNDS, sorry. Almost positive, b/c that converts to 60 in lbs and I remember that # for some odd reason. I did this just 2 months ago....

I just looked at the TA performance instructions.
The cover perimeter is 25ft/lbs
The load bolts are 5ft/lbs (or 60in/lbs)
