3.73 Gear whine, change?
Guys, I have an 02 WS6 with a 36-3800 stall and 3.73's. The gears are whining bad enough to aggrivate me. The car is a daily driver, but may see the the track once or twice a year.
I plan on either replacing the 3.73's (with a GM gear) or switch back to the 3.23's, or maybe 3.42's. I personally don't care for the rpm's (2600) at 70 mph, but with the converter being on the "loose" side I'm afraid put a taller gear in and create a real loose converter feel. The car has bolt ons only as of now, with a cam swap in the near future. What do you guys recommend?

either 3.23 or 3.42 would lower the number you listed
mine has the 2.73, and turns 1800 or so at 70
Where did you get the gears from and who installed it? I was thinking about buying the 3.73 from slp
If its not going to be race youll be fine with a stock spec honestly, I only want to change mine because its the base, if it were one of the better factory ratio's I wouldnt change it.
