Default Opinions on pattern!

Hi guys,

I really need to get some opinions on this pattern. I want to get this thing buttoned back up early this week so I can get some miles on her before heading on a road trip in a couple weeks. Let me know what you think. pinion shim is .032 and backlash is a .009. Thanks.

You need to measure the pinion depth from the centerline of the carrier to the face of the pinion gear. I doesn't make any difference how thick your shim is if you dont' know how deep the gear is.

That Pattern is perfect! Centered face to flank on the tooth. Backlash .009 on MP Gear.

Jeff

FYI, if you set a gear by pattern, the pinion depth tool is not necessary. This is how we do it and have done it for almost 18 years now, and have NEVER used a pinion depth setting tool. The tools are nice but will not work in every situation.
