Default Slack in rear end?

I recently had gears and a true trac differential installed in my 12 bolt. How much slack is normal? Under the car I can turn the drive shaft maybe a half an inch before it starts moving the wheels. It's most noticable at a low rpm in a gear where the engine bucks slightly like at 45-50 in 5th. I can also feel it when I shift gears. Thanks

I know this is an old thread, but for posterity, I confirmed with Hoopers who installed the True Trac in my 10-bolt that there was no need for the heart attack I had when I found I was able to rotate the driveshaft 15* (I measured it with an angle finder on the u-joint) before seeing any engagement out the axles. It is not just normal, 15* is pretty tight given all the gears that need to mesh to move the axles. I'll remember to get some forward driveline engagement prior to burnouts.
