replacing my 10bolt

replacing my 10bolt
Finally, I have the means to get a LS3 427 SS crate from mast motorsports and a stage 2 4L60E from performabuilt. I may take it to the track every now and then but not too often. I won't beat up on it all the time but I want it to be able to be streetable and have the power with it. So anyways, u guys think it would be ok to keep the 10bolt on the car making that kind of power? It seems like silly question but I'm seeking advice based off of u guys personal experience.

You going to be running a tire at the track? 10bolts are usaully ok til 400 or so at the tires but then agian there are guys that have broke them on a completly stock car. There are also cars with 10 bolts running in the 10's. So really its a hit or miss.

The 10 bolt will usually last longer behind a automatic. As said above there are a lot of cars in the 10s with the stock rear

if you use street tires at the track and spin alot then it may last a pass or two, but the first time you hook with the kinda power that motor is making, kiss the little ten bolt goodbye.

I'm still on my stock 10 bolt with a 6 speed, I don't plan on taking it to the track untill I have a 12 bolt in it. So far it's taken all the roll racing (2nd gear +) I can throw at it. My advice would be to run the 10 bolt, take a little easy and start saving for a 12 bolt.

I broke my 10 bolt twice, first the stock one then a built one before I had 400 rwhp it really depends on if you want to hook it up or not if it spinning all the time theres not that much strain on it and as for the driveshaft I still run my stock shaft everyone has told me they are good to 600 rwhp

if youre going to upgrade the rear end, instead of doing a 12 bolt, i personally would recomend doing a 9 inch. seems like a more preferred choice from many of the ls1 guys on here making big power. my 2 cents...

I love my 9 inch and the detroit locker is a little loud and everyone and their brother tries to tell me that the rear is going out when it clicks when I turn but other than that I wouldn't trade it for any other rearend out there
