I have a 4l60e with a yank 4000 will be running a 28" tall tire. Spraying a 125 shot and i have a 233/239 cam l92's ls3 manifold should i get a 3.73 gear or a 3.90 or what?

I haven't installed everything yet to test out the combo but after looking at some gearing calculators I went with 3.90's for mine.

4l60e/ SS3800/ 28" tire/ 150-200shot/ tfs235's

with the 28" tire I wanted the extra gear, if i was staying 26" i would have just gone with 3.73s

It depends on how efficient your converter is. The 3.90s could be close, the 3.73s should be more than fine.

My cam is smaller (231/237) same tire/same yank will shift @6500/limit @6700 I will install 9"/4.11 with next week or so only hope I can make thow the traps with out going into OD, so will find out later which gear is best.
last year with 10 bolt/3.73/25.5 tire trapping 124.5

I went 10.50 at 130mph, with a 4400 converter and gobs of NOS. I would make sure you can lock up the converter in drive (3rd gear), and run a 4.10 gear. Then converter effiecency isnt a factor. 3.90s will be fine too. If you stick with slicks, a 4.10, if you run radials then a 3.90. Hope that helps!
