Recommendations for a driveshaft please.
Going to a 200-4R from a M6 and Im going to need a custom driveshaft built. I really dont think Im going to go the carbon fiber route because I just cant see paying that much money. So Im guess that steel, aluminum, and chromoly are my only choices. Im not sure what length I need because I wont know until I get the tranny installed to do the measuing. Where or who do you recommend I purchase one from? Id like to get it locally, but I dont mind getting one out of town/state. Which metal should I go with too? Lastly, more than likely Im going to go with a 12 bolt down the road, will the driveshaft still fit, or will it have to be redone? Thanks a lot!

I got a Denny's "Nitro-Ready" cromoly driveshaft. Guaranteed forever. He also gives free labor for life on his shafts so if you need it cut down later it's free. If you need it lengthened you only pay for the material to lengthen it.

Thanks for the recommendation! Was the chromoly optional or is that what the Nitrous Ready driveshafts are built with? About it being free to shorten it or only having to pay for the extra material to lengthen it...did they tell you that or is that stated somewhere on their site? If you dont mind me asking, how much was it?

Thanks Fulton 1, I totally forgot about that thread. It looks like Im gonna go with a Denny's Driveshaft, but I havent decided how much money I want to dish out for one. Im not sure yet how long mine will have to be, but if its longer than usual and going to cost me out the butt, then I might just go with a steel on. Hopefully it isnt going to be too bad because I really want that nitrous ready one.

The Nitrous Ready one is a great choice for drag racing IMO. If, however, you're considering road racing or anything involving higher wheel speeds I would consider an aluminum shaft with its higher critical speed.
I'd suggest giving Denny a call and/or taking a look at http://www.markwilliams.com to get started.

Hey NVMySS I should have known that I would find you in here too. It looks likeI may be ordering a denny's also for my soon to be new 200. I was quoted about $450 for a steel one with a Strange Billett slip yoke so I think I'll take the Denny's instead.
Hey BTW e-mail me at ejrtheman@charter.net if you don't mind.

Ok...last few questions. What size diameter do I get? I have a Spohn chromoly torque arm with the front driveshaft loop. With the beefy ends that they build them with, it will fit in both my 200-4R and my stock 10 bolt? I know I know...10 bolt!!! Im going to run it until it breaks because I dont have the money for a 12 bolt yet. However, when I do upgrade to a 12 bolt will the driveshaft need to be modified? Thanks.
