Default Stock rear capabilities

I am hopefully about to pull the trigger and get my car cammed and hopefully lay about 390-400. I am pretty sure that my diff is about to go out. Will the stock 10 bolt with a new diff and set of gears hold 400 for a mainly street driven dd? The money just isn't on my side right now to get a 9" or 12 bolt.

I hate to break the news to you but there is nothing strong about the 7.5 10 bolt. IMO a new rear in these cars should come as the first $$ mod anyone ever does. You just will not know until you rip on it.

What is a good diff for a perdominately street driven car with some strip use. (A4 with 3.73)

3600# raceweight, stock 3.42 gear 10 bolt. I would't try this with a 6 speed.
