Default rotating mass Q's

had a couple of questions on reciprocating mass

i went from my stock alum DS to a steel DS that the guy gave me to go with my rear (1350 yokes)
in doing some research i found that steel usually weighs 7.5lbs more than the alum, and i found that 1lb rotating= 10lbs overall

THATS 75 F'IN LBS

and, as i said, i also have a 33 spline eaton hd 4.11 moser 12 bolt

HOW MUCH F'IN WEIGHT IS THIS ADDING TO MY CAR?

You shouldn't take that bit of folklore as physics.

1lb rotating at 1" radius (like a U-jount yoke) is not
1lb rotating at 12" radius (like a wheel/tire). Further,
a piece rotating at engine RPM is different than (for
the better part of the 1/4) one rotating at wheel
speed, with driveline parts somewhere, variable, in
the middle.

Of course the punch line is, stuff that don't break
finishes better than stuff that did.
