rear end gear recomendation
i have a 2000 camaro..it has a built tranny, tranny cooler, headers, true duals with single chamber flows, ported tb, lid and 3.42 gears right now...i went to the track a while back and went 7.98 in the 1/8th mile on street tires ( bfg gforce ta).. what gear do you recommend to keep me in the 7s for sure without having to put drag radials on it...it runs cosistant 8.2...i would love to be in the 7s all day long...let me know...

how much of a difference am i going to feel from 3.42 to 3.73. i was thinking more like 4.10....what would be the downfall to putting 4.10 in, not really worried bout the gas mileage...

A 3.42 - 3.73 is a pretty decent jump. I only said what I did based on your comment of wanting to run 7's all day long. I think you would accomplish that with a set of 3.73's while not sacrificing cruise rpm's at highway speeds. A 4.10 in a 6 speed car is a good combo since 6th gear becomes much more usable. I'm not sure how a 4.10 would act in an auto but I would def research the cruise speed. I gained over 3 tenths of 1/8th mile quickness moving to a 4.10 in my old 6 speed car but like I said it was a six and not an auto.
