Exclamation Gear whine issue...experts please help

Yesterday, I installed Motive Perfomance 3.42 gearset in a Strange 12 bolt w/Detroit locker and have a gear whine above 40 mph with light throttle/cruise. New Timken pinion/carrier bearings and races were installed. The attached pics are after driving 6 miles and after looking at the pics, it looks like the drive needs to move lower to the root/toe side. Am I reading this correctly? Please post any guidance...
Specs:
- Pinion preload set at 20in/lb
- Pinion shim: .034
- B/L: .007

The pull appears to be dead on to me or very close. I'm not judging this by the painted pattern. This is best judged by looking where the painted teeth made contact with the pinion and then the pinion touched unpainted ring gear teeth. So look at the other unpainted ring gear teeth. that is dead on for pull. The shark tooth pattern on the coast side is not that great and more than likely where your whine is coming from. It's possible you might be able to clean this up a small bit if your backlash was set to about .010 or maybe even .011. Sometimes you have to find a happy medium and that can be very hard to accomplish. A factory gear set is going to whine the least and were lapped at the manufacturer specifically for the best pattern. Since you have a Motive Performance set, a little whine should be expected. It appears you are very close and with a little patience, you should be able to quiet them down a little. 12 bolts have a larger ring gear than a 7.5. Your back lash setting is too tight IMO. .007 - .008 is for a 7.5

Open up your backlash a bit and I think you will have it.
