Default what rear ends will fit in my t.a?

I have a 98 transam ls1 with traction control (permenantlyy shut off), this guy has a 99 z28 rear end with out traction control with 273s, he said he wasn't sure if it was out of a v8 or a v6, but I'm gueesing if it was out of a z28 its a v8, not sure if it matters if its out of a v6 or v8? Help please, will it fit and work

2.73 would have been out of an automatic Z28,V6s' got(depending on option code) 3.08,3.23,or 3.42.
It will physically fit/bolt right in.
What about ABS ? In order to retain ABS,your 4 channel axles and backing plates have to be used with that 3 channel rearend.
The 98 T/A probably has a 'Auburn' carrier,the 99 Z28 probably has a 'Torsen' carrier.
