Default Fabricated 9" rear ends

I've read through a lot of posts finding out pretty much all I can about these things. Do they have to be assembled or something when they are shipped to you? Do they not come already complete? And if they have to be built after shipping, what is normally the cost of paying someone to do it? Thanks in advance for the help.

All the fab housings around here are built and ready to install. Press your axle bearings on, install your third member and then install the axles. If you don't have a press, find someone who does. Shops charge $15-$40 just to press bearings on axles. Which in my opinion is highway robbery for 5 minutes worth of time. But hey, I guess everyone needs to eat right?

There any reason that the place you buy the rear from couldnt press the axle bearings on before they shipped you a complete rear?

They come to you un pressed for a reason. Most of these guys need to slip the caliper bracket on the axle first. Then press the bearing on.

MIDWEST PERFORMANCE CHASSIS I shouldnt have to say more. but they will build and fab the rear and put it all together for you if you wish and ship it to you ready to install. Properly just have to send them your backing plates. IMO the best rear you can buy for a F-body car and awesome customer service. The mans name is Eric give him a call.

We ship ours ready to bolt in if we have the correct brake backing plates. If not you need to do some assembly.

all of the aftermarket rearends will come with a 9 inch type housing end, which will require the brake bracket as the axle bearing retainer.
the Midwest Chassis & Performance, Inc. real fabricated rearend is the most true "bolt-in" 9 inch you can buy. we offer it in parts with a complete assembled center section where you can have the bearings pressed on the axles after you swap over your brake backing plate assy's, or we do offer a complete assembled rearend ready to bolt into the car. we have options on the brakes of using your existing parts, new GM parts(even 4ch reluctor rings), and any of the aftermarket brakes as well, like Strange, Wilwood, or Aerospace.

we have the best deals on any rearend you want for the f-body cars. Pm or call us for any details, pricing, or tech questions.

not to hijack things, but what kind of ballpark price are you looking at for a bolt in 9 inch or 12 bolt. 3.73 gears and a posi, not a spool.
