Default Going to have to get a new rear end. Need help!

I have an 01 z28 with mods in my sig, And I'm now running some m/t drag radials. The car has 120,xxx miles, and although I have never had problems with the rear end, I know they are coming. So I want to start thinking about a new one now. Basically I just want something that us going to be bulletproof and be able to hand my car with it's mods, dr's, and maybe heads and a small shot down the road. So for my situation, would you guys suggest a 9 inch or 12 bolt?? I am leaning towards the 9 bolt because I seem to be finding them cheaper and I am on a strict budget. Would I be best to jus look for a cheap used one in the classifieds? Any other tips on what I should do to find one? Also my car has abs and asr, so that means I need to get a 4 channel right? Or will a 3 channel work as well? And I had 3.73s put I'm my car cuz it's an A4 that cAme with 2.73s. So do I need to take any of that into consideration. I'm assuming that doesn't really matter as once I get the 9 inch I will just be running ford gears correct? Thanks guys, I basically just need a real quick crash course, and need to know how to do this the cheapest way possible being a college student!

I have a lot of information at this link that may help you out.

If you buy the housing and axle package at this link, and pick up a used junkyard nine inch center section, you can put together a fairly strong rear. The junkyard center section will be the weak point though. Bob

Ahh I see. Thanks man! How much do center sections usually cost at the junkyards? Haha

I personaly would steer away from a "junkyard" third member. They are usually worn out and will not give you the ratio you are typically looking for(3.73). it is more cost effective just to build a 9" and get the third member at the same time. You can expect to spend around $2100.00 to $2600.00 depending on what type of setup you want to go with. Give me a call and I would be happy to go over the options with you and make sure you are making the proper choice.
