Default Pulsating Noise after 9" Install

The new rear is in, and after a few hundred miles it starting making a pulsating noise.

I hear it mainly when I am coming to a stop. And when its cold.

2nd half of the vid was in reverse.
Noise

Don't know what it is.

Sounds like pinion really bad pinion bearings. Does it do it on acceleration at higher speeds too?

I don't/can't hear it at higher speeds.

Talked to Moser, they are not sure what the issue is. They don't think there is anything wrong with the rear. They have never heard a pulsating noise.

Said it was ok to drive it. I also sent them the video, waiting for a response.

Definately sounds like something is going on in that differential to me. Bearing of some sort I would bet.

What sucks is that you will have to pull the center section out and inspect, The sound is not normal and would agree with Jawgear up there. Blows for the money you spend and it is not right.

I have spent enough money and have no more to put into it.. also I have picures at moser right now on the studs.. the holes were not the right size. had to drill my rotors for it to fit right. I don't think they will do any thing to help. Heard to much crap about moser's service.

Was the rear powder coated? I read an article where they had to drill holes bigger due to the powder coating being too thick. This is where the T bolts go. Is that what you are talking about?

OH and I now see why fast cars from the factory cost a lot more. The time and effort of egineering that goes into the final product. I bought cheap and now I am in the process of upgrading, which means I am working out the bugs with my time and my money...

no, I mean the axle's. The lug pattern is right, but the studs that were suppost to fit don't. I broke all but one off doing about 15 in the middle of no where on the way to texas speed. when I finally made it to a shop they showed me that the rotors were not all the way on the axle to the back plate. They were resting on the back of the stud where it gets pressed in. I had them drill my rotors out so they would clear some new cheap ones that I found at a parts store there. when i got back i got the part number for the arp studs that were suppost to fit from bob at brute speed, and they didn't fit. Im still waiting to here back but Im going to give it till monday then I will call and bug again. Just hoping they will fix there mistake and send the correct axles.

They suggest I pull the ABS sensor. They think it may be rubbing against the exciter ring.

That is easy enough to remove to see if it is the culprit. Bob

It was the ABS sensor. Pulled it out no more noise.

Going to try to space it up a bit and see what happens.

Threw an O-Ring on it, no more noise. :woot:
But I did notice the rod was bent a bit. Will that cause an issue?

Should it have came with something to space it up?

Being bent should not cause a problem as long as it doesn't throw a code giving you the light on the dash.

It doesn't come with anything to space it up, you have to check clearances and grind the rod down if necessary. I don't have a copy of the ABS instructions on hand but whoever installed the rear for you should of checked the clearance. Bob
