Default 300 km/h in third gear?

Hi

I have 02 camaro z28 a4 with 2.73

my car has bolt ons and, small cam and a tune

335 hp and 365 tq on my last dyno

the rev limiter is 6000 rpm

my car can do 255 km/h in third gear

if it is 7000 rpm

can my car do 300 km/h in third gear ?

according to the web site
http://www.f-body.org/gears/

I should be able to do it

what do you think?

okay, i think what ryar meant was that you wouldn't be able to do it in the 1/4 mile. you will get that high eventually

Nope... I meant it will never do it with only 335 horse... The power is going to fall off after 6,000 RPM, if it hasn't already started to do so, and the car isn't going to continue accelerating.

You'd have to ask some of the Texas Mile guys how much power it would take.... I'd assume 500+

i dont know his setup off the top of my head, but I think Patrick G did ~185 with ~450WHP on a mile run. but I have heard that it takes ALOT of power to hit 200. I would guess 600-800WHP... I know a lot of 1000WHP Z06s were doing ~210....

So, just to continue to beat on the dead horse.... Its not gonna happen. No way.

A ZO6 Vette will only just crack 180mph in a mile. 300kph = 186mph. You won't get there at all.

I'm not talking about 1 mile , maybe 10 miles

so with 450 hp do you think it's possible ?500 or what?

Just doing math calcs on a spreadsheet at sea level , 65 degrees
It will be roughly 350 rwhp to hit that top speed of 300 KPH. But it will take way more than a mile.

Does that take in to account rolling resistance, wind resistance, etc?

If so I'm willing to bet that formula is WAYYYY off

The spreadsheet is pretty correct . Some smart guy racer that does ORR events came up with it.
I am able to my top speed of 190mph with 380 rwhp. so it works for me.
