Default Rear-end noise

I have a Torsen T2R w/ GM 3.73's which is making some noise. It was dead quiet when I left the shop, but over the next couple of months it's gradually gotten noisier. It makes a bit of noise on coasting, but also some during acceleration as well.

Advice?

Do they offer any warranty w/the install?
I'd take it to 'em & tell them to look at it.

I had the installer drive it with me in the passenger seat. He couldn't hear anything - but that was about two months ago (about two months after the initial install). The owner suggested it may be a bad diff and to try to warranty it. He said they could take it apart and look at it, but I don't want to be held to their opinion. It sounded like I'd cover the labor in full as well.

They only warranty that which was purchased through them - and it wasn't. However, they have a good reputation in the area. I think the decel noise is backlash, but not sure what the accel noise is.

Well the accel & decell noises are inproper/poor ring & pinion contact or possibly the pinion bearings.
It is not the diff, something isn't right with most likely the installation.
This is a 7.5 10 bolt right?

Yes, it's the stock rear-end, with the exception of the T2R & 3.73's.

You haven't been slappin E/T streets or slicks on it & getting 1.5's at the track daily have ya?
The only reason I ask is cause the 7.5 is a piece of junk, & it under severe distress it always good for one thing

Hell no. Haven't been to the drag strip since 2001. It's a daily driver with street tires (Bridgestone & Kuhmo MX since the install) that sees autox duty one day out of the month.

Well I dont see why it is going on ya, but I know how far performance parts & their warranties go.
My M-6 car also tore up some diff's but I drove hard in those situations.
I hope everything works out for ya.

Well I had a similar problem except the other way around.. I had 3.73's installed (had the T2R before) and at first it was quiet.. Then it started making some horrible noises on decel. and slight on accel.. Shop recommended that I replace the ring and pinion. Replaced the ring and pinion and it went away.

Now I am in the process of trying to get a refund with SLP. (where I got the gears)
