Default need help about a stock 10 bolt

i have a 2002 camaro ss and yesterday the stock 10 bolt started clanking i took the diff cover off and found out that it needs a new carrier now how do i know what kind of carrier i need does it matter if its a 4 channel or 3 channel or with or w/o traction control cause mine has traction control and i found a carrier for pretty cheap but the car it come off of didnt have traction control is that gonna make a difference please tell me what i need to do i need to do this the cheapest route and fast and thank you in advance for your advise

you didn't state if your car is A4 or M6 and not that it's important to know anyway.
2002 SS generally/always so far would have a 3 series carrier,unless your option code shows a GU2(2.73 2 series). A 3 channel 3 series carrier is the same as a 4 channel 3 series carrier. A 3 channel carrier requires a 'reluctor ring' to be mounted on the carrier for the ABS to function. If the carrier you're looking at getting is a 3 channel carrier and has the ring mounted on it,you can use it as is,or remove the ring,your choice. the reason you can leave it on is you would not be sensing it in your 4 channel system,which has a reluctor ring mounted on each axle.
you just have to make sure it's a 3 series 28 spline carrier.
2002 would have had a Torsen carrier(99-02),98 + earlier had Auburn carriers.
