C-clips will Leak ?? not sure on that one.. Breaking perhaps. If its a drag only car then youd want a c-clip eliminator setup.

Im building an 8.8 (link in sig) but mines a DD and i would prefer to run c-clips (that and strange doesnt make custom length c-clip axles)

I cant see there being a problem if you run a c-clip eliminator and have it "leak".. the engineers at strange have there eliminator setup for oval track. There wont be leaking there..

unless the guys ment the c-clips will break when driving a spool around town.

just my .02

You can use 9" ford housing end with the 8.8 build and use the spool with the 9" ends.

In response to the op's question, I have found Moser's C-clip eliminators far less prone to leaking than Strange's. Unless the designs have changed Moser's is a one piece with the bearing pressed on and the Strange is a 2-piece.
Ironic part of this Iam a Strange Eng. dealer and not a Moser dealer!
