Default Will a gear change greatly increase quarter mile?

I have a 95 lt1 corvette with an slp intake, headers, exhaust, 58mm tb, and a 75 dry shot. I also just aquired a set of Nitto 55r's. Would a gear install greatly increase my quarter. I have stock gears and want to be firmly in the 12's. I believe my current gear ratio is a 3.07. Any advice would be great!!! The car has 108k miles on it.

wow 3.07? I'm not sure if it will "greatly" increase it. But it will definitely help out a lot if you go to something like a 3.90 or 4.10

from what I've read a higher stall torque converter helps even more.

Steeper gears will drop ET's, provided you can get traction.
And 69cutlass is right about the stall. It can change the car dramatically.

for a auto a stall can reduce ET by 1/2 sec.

I think if u went to 3.73 or 4.10s you would see at least .2 in the quarter as long as you can hook up.

The question that needs to be asked:

Manual or automatic?

If it's an auto, don't waste your time on gears, go for the stall.
Manual, go for the gears, and tires to get traction.

Done

Default thanks

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who is providing information. I am new to all this and am grateful for the feedback. From what Im reading the stall is going to be the way to go. Who makes a good stall and how much for price and install?
