Default What are the risks of buying a slightly used 12-bolt?

A member here is selling a slightly used Moser 12-bolt for $1,800. He says that it has very low miles and has 3.73 gears that have only 10 miles on them. He says that he bought the unit from another member here and just never had time to install it. He wants to stay with his perfectly-running 10-bolt for now. He lives close to my installer and I do need a new rear as my 10-bolt has been making some noise. Do you think this is a good purchase? If not, then what are the risks or consequences that I might have to deal with? Thanks in advance for the info.

have him remove the cover and send you pics of the ring gear,so you can see the wear pattern.
