Default Narrowed rear without mini tub??

I have spoken with a well known chassis shop and they told me I had to mini tub my car if I went with a 4" narrowed 12 bolt. Just by looking around under the car, it dosen't seem very obvious why you would need to. 2 inches on each side dosen't appear to affect anything but the brakes. Please enlighten me if you have experience with this situation,or have a narrowed rear. Thank you all for your time and info!!!

Are you planning on changing the back spacing of you wheels? If not then you will probably have to depending on what size of tire you are planning to run.

2 inches off each side does not require you to mini tub the car. You will however have to have a wheel with 5.5 backspace.

Yep, I went 2.25 each side and have no mini tub with 12'' wide wheels

Like was said, youll just need new wheels. With a 2" narrower rear you can run a wheel with a deeper lip.

Either the B/S changes or the car. Depending how much, it could be both.

Thank you for the info fellas. My plan was to change my 15x10 7.5 backspacing to a 5.5 with a narrowed rear. Good to know no mini tubing is needed!!!
