To do it right, and mine was done right:
GM 3.42 Gears (NEW)
SLP ZEXEL take off pumpkin
(no exciter ring needed i have ASR)
ratech gear install kit
$$$$ to have a mechanic do it. It's a very expensive process last time i checked. I had all my labour done at once for a mad discount. And i got the Panhard and LCA's thrown in for free.
Do not waste your money on a TA GIRDLE unless you need to.
Do waste your money on some nitto's.
I'd definitely strongly rethink 3.73's because 3.42's are quite high revving on the freeway. i can imagine 2500rpm's cruise with 3.73's or close to it , locked up on the freeway. ouch mpg.
The good ole days of 350 miles to a tank will be no more.
Then again with my driving scenario i'm lucky to get 120 miles to a 14 gallon refill. damn converter's
