Question Clunking from rear end after new wheels? WTF?

If anyone has any ideas:

I replaced my 16x8 stock wheels for 17x8 Center line Rebels. At speeds around 15-20 mph, there's a slight 3-5hz "clunking" coming from the rear end.

I took it to the dealer and they said they put stock wheels back on and the noice went away. Conclusion: It's my fault for using other than stock parts on the car. No charge, but I'm pissed now because how can perfectly fine wheels be making that noice?

So, I go home and put some other than stock 16x8 wheels on the back that I had and sure enough I'd say 95% of the noise went away.

I don't understand, and I haven't heard anything bad about Centerline. Could someone throw some suggestions my way?

Assuming the wheels are true and tight, I cant even imagine what it could be.

Thats just bizzarre. Anyone else?

Just to throw this in, I had the wheels re-balanced and rotated. No Love.

Look at your brake calipers and the insides of the Rebels. Also see if the tires were rubbing on the inside or outside of the wheel well.

Yeah, I've called Centerline and they have no idea, and have never heard of a similar problem. I've inspected the entire area around the wheels and the tires with no suspects. It seems everything I do to this car (aftermarket wise) just craps on me!
