slip yoke...dampener?
1999 TA LS1
4L60E
My slip yoke had a round piece at the front, which meets the trans and when doing my u-joints it broke right in half. it also had a rubber seal around the inner of it sepreating it from the yoke.
personally i thoiught it was a vibration dampener, but i have had many people argee, as well as many say its a counter weight. Gm dealerships dont even know what im talking about and say the TA/camaros didnt leave the dealership with one.
Im just very unsure as to what exactly this is and if its necessary to have one there
CAN I PUT MY BIRD BACK TOGETHER SO I CAN CRUISE!? or should i keep looking for this part that seems obsolete

I know that 2001-2002 F-body did leave the factory with that yoke (the one on the left)...
[ I don't know about prior years ]
You are fine to run with the plain yoke.
