My wifes car has 2;73. How much diff in 1/4 with 3;73`s? Currently runs 13.6 @105. I know mph won`t change.

I'd say 2-3 tenths and a few mph at least

I personally dropped from 13.5 to 13.0 with 3.73 swap and some DR's - well worth it

2-3 tenths seems realistic. If I got 5 tenths I would be jumping up and down.
I thought the MPH would stay the same because that is an indication of HP. 13.0 is my next goal. Extra MPH would be a nice bonus.

sotp goes up 50%...chirping the tires in second is now very easy, first gear is a beast, revs up nicely in between shifting, which in turn takes advantage of your catback
(running higher rpms=alittle louder) It "feels" twice as fast. For those reasons alone it was worth it to me. No regrets ditching my 2.73s

This has been gone over many times, and just a quick search will give you tons of info.
2-3 tenths WITH drag radials is about the best you will see.
.5 tenths? Probably other factors at play here.
You want to be quick, and not just feel quick, get a stall.
If you just want to feel like your quick, gears are ok.
Look at it this way.
It is agreed upon by everybody that the first 60' of a 1/4 mile has the most impact on your e.t.
You wanna get out of the hole as quick as you can.
To do that, you need all the tq that is available, right? [ And sticky tires ]
So, assume your engine hits its tq band at say 3200-3500 rpms.
Now, from a standstill, how much of that 60' are you gonna eat up before you hit that tq band with 3.73 gears? 40 feet? 50 feet?
With a stall, even a small one, like a 3000, you are almost into that tq band from a standstill.
Seems like the stall is the way to go performance wise.

My 13.5 was in 70 degrees with 273's my 13.0 was with 373's, DR's and a ported T/B and LID only in 54 degrees. So yeah I would say .2-.3 sound right.

From 3.23s to 4.10s I went from 12.69 @ 109 to 12.30 @ 113. And I had numerous runs each way.

Yes, again, probably other factors involved.

Btw, you could have kept your 3.23's, put in an SS3600, and it would have put you in the 1.65-1.70 60' range and you would probably be in the 12.10's if not very high 11's.'s

We went with 4:10`s. 60ft didnt change much. Dropped exactly 3 tenths on ET. Now its time to ditch the factory tires and wheels for the stickies and skinnies. Previous best was 13.64 now best 13.34
