So i was driving around last weekend in my M6 01 trans am with the stock 10 bolt behind it. Im at a stop light, light turns green, i turn left, 1st to second gear all is fine, shifted into 3rd at about 2500rpm then i heard a clunk and i could hear bits rolling around in the rear end.. get out and look and there is diff fluid leaking out of my case cover..

jw what would cause those bolts to break?

Torsen problems have been occurring,bolts breaking,bolts loosening then breaking,the end casting that is held in by those bolts breaking.
Why ? inadequate design,cost effectiveness,I don't think GM or Torsen would answer a question like that.
